Home                     150th Anniversary Celebrations

2015 sees the 150th Anniversary of the building of St Mary's church and, following on from our "Parish Social" celebrations in July, our commemorations will culminate with an Anniversary Mass which will take place on Wednesday 14th October at 7pm and will be celebrated by Bishop Tom Williams. All are welcome to attend this Mass and if you happen to be a parishioner who has left the Parish please take this as a cordial invitation to join us on October 14th in our celebration. Refreshments will be served in the Parish Centre after the Mass.

Also an exhibition tracking the history of the Parish and parish life will be displayed in the church from October 11th. The exhibition will be open to all and, in addition to the normal opening arrangements, the church will be open on the Sunday afternoons of October 11th and 18th between 1:30 and 4pm - whilst all are welcome to visit the exhibition at any time the church is open, we are extending a special invitation through the "Churches Together in Euxton" to the Church of England and Methodist parishes on the afternoon of October 11th, with refreshments being served in the Parish Centre.

Accompanying the above we have published "A History of the Parish of St Mary's, Euxton" which is now available for sale. Already published (and on sale) is a booklet commemorating the Parishioners of St Mary's who gave their lives in the two World Wars. Commemorative items (china mugs and fridge magnets) are also available for purchase.
